C&C Milano is an Italian textile house on the ground floor of the Fine Arts Building at 232 East 59th Street. Emanuele and Piero Castellini Baldissera founded it, and the New York showroom opened in 2015.

Linen is the house's subject. The cloth is woven in Italy from natural yarn, and beyond fabric the range runs to leather, trimmings, wallpaper, rugs and a home collection of finished linens. The Castellini side of the business is architectural rather than purely textile, and it shows in how the collections are put together, as palettes that hold across a whole room rather than as individual patterns competing for attention.

A ground floor showroom is the practical difference from the tower suites a few streets west. There is a street window and daylight, which is the correct light to judge a linen in. A linen chosen under a showroom spot will read warmer than it does at a north facing window, and this is one of the few trade rooms in the district where that comparison can be made on the spot.

The building publishes no access policy. C&C Milano keeps weekday hours and takes no appointment, so anyone can come in. The house sells to the trade.

Match the weight to the drop before the colour is settled. C&C's linens run from sheer casement to upholstery weight in similar colourways, and a client shown a colour on a heavy sample will expect that colour in a curtain that hangs in a different cloth entirely. Pull the same shade in two weights and hang both against the window on the visit.
