August is the quiet month. Most galleries are on summer hours and many are closed Fridays, showrooms are running skeleton staff before the fall market, and the trade is largely out east. If you are in the city check out The Haas Brothers’ work concurrently on view at the Museum of Arts and Design April 8 through August 21, 2026 and at 82 Franklin Street.

On September 1, 2026, the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission unanimously approved (9-0) Docket LPC 27-01049, permitting the structural combination of the 1866 sister rowhouses at 63-65 Charles Street. The decision allows complete interior party wall removal and a 12-foot cellar excavation, provided the developer maintains a vertical historic two-building delineation on the restored front and expanded rear facades.
