de Le Cuona is a British textile house working almost entirely in natural fibre, and its New York showroom is a suite in the New York Design Center at 200 Lexington Avenue. The building is open to the public and this showroom sells to the trade.

Linen is the house's subject and the reason to go. The range runs through hemp, wool, silk, cotton, cashmere, alpaca and merino, in plains, paisleys, velvets, herringbones, twills, stripes, checks, bouclés and stonewashed and reversible cloths. The house pioneered GOTS certified organic linen, which is the certification to ask for by name when a client has asked for one. Collections carry names rather than numbers, Rugged Revival, Woven Earth, Raw Echo, Natural Rebel and Cabinet of Curiosities among them.

What the showroom adds over a sample book is weight and fall. These are cloths chosen for how they hang and crease rather than for pattern, and a heavy washed linen behaves differently at a nine foot window than at a twelve foot one. The showroom is where a curtain length can be pinned up rather than imagined.

Bespoke interior tailoring is made in the UK by the house's own specialists, which covers cushions, throws and finished curtaining rather than cloth by the metre.

Linen creases and the house does not pretend otherwise, which is the useful part. A client who wants linen and will not tolerate a crease wants something else, and finding that out in the showroom with a length in hand costs nothing. Finding it out after a set of curtains is hung costs the curtains.
