150 Barrow Street is the former Keller Hotel, a Renaissance Revival building of 1898 at the corner of West Street, designated a landmark in 2007 and converted by BKSK Architects into 24 residences across seven storeys.

The conversion is inside a landmark envelope, so the openings and the masonry are the 1898 ones and they set the plan rather than the other way round. Apartments run from small one bedrooms to four bedrooms, which is a wide spread inside a single seven storey building and means the floor plates were divided differently at each level.

Being on the corner of West Street, the building faces the Hudson directly, so the principal rooms of the river facing apartments have an open western exposure and the afternoon light that comes with it. That is a real specification constraint rather than an amenity: west light at that intensity governs what finishes and textiles will hold up.

Floors are custom stained European white oak, a finish that can be refinished in place.
