The decagon that gives every residence a corner window is also the reason wall space at Madison House is the first thing to run out.

Handel Architects planned Madison House on a decagonal floor plate, a ten sided footprint that removes the interior corner columns and gives every residence a column free glass corner. It is a plan built around the view, and most of what you meet inside follows from that.
With eleven foot ceilings and ten foot windows, the perimeter is nearly all glass, so wall space is scarce. It is also spoken for. Televisions, speakers, and anything heavy or noisy cannot hang on the demising walls between residences, and those walls take no penetrations at all, because they carry a fire and smoke rating. Where the television goes is a plan question here, not a decorating one.
The fan coil closets need louvered doors for return air, so solid doors are out. Window limit stops stay, and the fusible links on select windows have to remain clear, which constrains treatments at the head. On terraces, the facade maintenance rig drops through defined zones that outdoor millwork has to leave alone.
Timing matters more than usual. No invasive investigation before closing, so no drywall holes and no lifted boards. Discovery that would normally happen early happens late.
The floors are the forgiving part. Five inch white oak, finished on site rather than prefinished, so they can be sanded and restained in place. Full replacement is rarely necessary, which is worth knowing before anyone quotes you for new floors.
